The World Cup will take place in North America starting on June 11. North America? Well, Mexico, Canada, and the U.S., but the U.S. will host the greatest number of games. Coca-Cola will, of course, be a major sponsor of the event. Forty-eight national teams will compete. Does that mean there are forty-eight sets of cans available? In any case, there are at least four design families:
– The first series to appear consists of colorful cans in the colors of the various teams. Sets of eight, ten, sixteen? In 250ml, 330ml, 500ml? You see all kinds… These series were released in Asia, Canada, South America,… before finally arriving in Europe.
– The second design corresponds to the first cans released in France: simple cans featuring the words “Allez” (in France) or “Devil Time” (in Belgium) above a soccer ball.
– The latest release features the soccer ball design, but in “Light,” “Classic,” and “Zero” versions in the U.S.
– Finally, some countries, such as Germany, are releasing their traditional series featuring players from their national teams.
Some countries, such as Canada and Germany, have partnered with Panini to offer the famous collectible stickers.
It’s time to make some space on your shelves!
